Hello My Name Is...

Whitney Jackson Cunningham

I am so excited to begin my second year at Brew Tech! I am a native of Calhoun County where I spent a total of 8 years teaching at White Plains Middle, Oxford High, and Anniston High Schools. I attended college at Auburn University, but went on to earn my Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees at Jacksonville State University. My family and I relocated to Montgomery last summer, and already love living in a bigger city.
The 2018-2019 school year is going to be amazing.

Dear Parents and/or Guardians,

As you may already know we have started and in-depth study of The Great Gatsby and 1920’s culture. In conjunction with this study all of my 11th grade students will be working together to execute our Gatsby Soiree! This project is a great learning experience and tons of fun, but the majority of students MAJOR Grades for this quarter will come from their execution of this project. Students should have rubrics and timelines in their notebooks. The students will work collaboratively to host a Gatsby/1920’s themed party complete with presentations, food, and costumes. Students are asked to dress in their Sunday’s best or if they dress in clothing with 1920’s flair they will receive bonus points. Additionally, I am asking that each student pay $5 by Friday November 16th to offset the food cost associated with the Refreshment committee.

I would also love for you to join us for the Soiree so that you can see your child’s presentation, and all of the hard work they put into this project. Dates and times for each classes Soiree are as follows: 3rd Block Thursday November 29 at 10:40 am
